(ROANOKE) The funeral for Rubie Ollice Mitchell Cole, 95, of Roanoke will be Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Charles Fetner and Bro. Scott Whaley officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday.

Mrs. Cole died Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Traylor's Nursing Center.

A Woodland native, Mrs. Cole was born April 26, 1925, the daughter of Malcus and Rebecca Smith Mitchell. She was a member of Liberty East Baptist Church and worked as a production supervisor for 25 years at Playtex.

Survivors include her son, Barry Cole of Roanoke; four grandchildren, Chris Cole of Carrollton, Ga., Robin Akin (Al) of Bremen, Ga., Lindsay Averett (Steven) of Decatur, Ga., and Joshua Cole (Kara) of Newnan, Ga.; and nine great-grandchildren, Kelsie Akin, Hannah Akin, Eli Akin, Finn Averett, Jude Averett, Maren Averett, Grady Averett, Ira Cole and Harvey Cole. Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willie Jackson Cole; sisters, Janie Martin, Susie Moore, Charlotte Horn, Becky Prescott, Gail Nichols and Alphie Brown; and brothers, David Mitchell, John Mitchell, Manley Mitchell and Earl Mitchell.

Pallbearers will be Junior Brown, Gene Jackson, Pete Mitchell, Bill Prestridge, Charles Cole and Frank Cole.
