(FIVE POINTS) Edna Willene Moore Laymon, 88, of Five Points died May 29, 2019.

The funeral for Mrs. Laymon was Saturday, June 1, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Stutts Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Williams officiating. Interment followed in Heard County Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Laymon was born July 19, 1930, in Marshall County, Ala., to the late Steve Moore and Bessie I. Leveritt Moore. She was a Christian by faith and had worked in the textile industry. Nothing gave her more joy than to prepare a home cooked meal and have everyone over for lunch or supper. In her free time she enjoyed getting outside to work in the garden and sitting down with a good book.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Foster of Franklin, Ga., and Deloris Bearden (David) of Five Points; 10 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sons, John Robert Smith Jr. and Derek Smith; and two sisters, Jean Rosamond and Maxine Edwards.
