(HUGULY) Earl Whaley, 80, of Huguley died Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.

Due to current gathering restrictions, a private service and visitation will be held Saturday, July 25, at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. The Rev. James Caulfield will officiate.

Mr. Whaley was born Nov. 24, 1939, in Wedowee to the late Georgie and Lonnie Whaley. He was a former supervisor at West Point Pepperell's Fairfax Mill. He was a former member of the U.S. Army National Guard. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was a beloved father and grandfather.

Mr. Whaley is survived by his children, Daun Tucker of Atlanta, Janice Heard (Mike) of Woodland, Debbie Copeland (Sam) of Penton, Joey Whaley (Belinda) of Dadeville and Carolyn Reaves (David) of Huguley; grandchildren, Erin Weaver (Charles), Travis Heard (Nancy), Lindsey Dye, Kaylee Whaley, Erica Hill (Justin), Victoria Reaves and Grayson Reaves; and great-grandchildren, Madison and Ryder. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jane Whaley, and two brothers.
