(WADLEY) Funeral services for Ellene Cato Mitchell, 87, of Wadley will be Friday, June 14, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Stanley Yarbrough officiating. Burial will follow at Forrester's Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30-2 p.m. on Friday before services begin.

Mrs. Mitchell passed away Wednesday, June 12, at Walker Brookwood Baptist Hospital in Jasper.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Mitchell was born March 15, 1932, the daughter of Henry Cornelious and Loie Robinson Cato. She was a member of Hope Memorial Church and was a retired assistant area administrator for the State of Alabama Health Department, where she served six counties.

Survivors include her husband, Donald G. Mitchell of Wadley; two daughters, Larraine Bailey of Wadley and Tandi Mitchell of Montgomery; son, Gary Mitchell of Knoxville, Tenn.; daughter-in-law, Karen Taylor of Wadley; three grandsons, James Douglas Taylor, Connor Taylor and Josh Ray; four great-grandchildren; sister, Juanita Powell of Roanoke; and brother, Tommy Cato of Roanoke. Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Douglas Taylor and Kenneth Brown; three sons, Jim Taylor, Jon Taylor and Marc Mitchell; sister, Ruth Calhoun; two brothers, Wayne Cato and Ferris Cato; and great-grandson, London Taylor.

Pallbearers will be Doug Taylor, Gene Taylor, Malcom Bassett, Connor Taylor, Brent Noles and Douglas Kirk.
