(ROANOKE) The funeral for Byron M. Morrison, 80, of Roanoke will be Friday, Aug. 2, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Tim Whaley and Rev. Scott Whaley officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday.
Mr. Morrison went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 30, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.
A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mr. Morrison was born Dec, 22, 1938, the son of William Artemus and Velma T. Williams Morrison. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, owner of Morrison Insurance Agency, worked with Randolph County Schools as a bus driver, and worked at Quattlebaum Funeral Home.
Survivors include his two daughters, Kay Baker (husband, Guy) of Wedowee and Beth Melton (husband, Adam) of Roanoke; two sons, Keith Morrison and Ken Morrison (wife, Dianna), both of Roanoke; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Juliette Cockrell of Alabaster; four brothers, Bill Morrison of Pensacola, Fla., Fred Morrison of Delta, and Wendell Morrison and Truman Morrison, both of Wedowee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Cofield Morrison; parents; sister, Dorothy Albright; six brothers, Tom Morrison, Milford Morrison, Jack Morrison, Billy Joe Morrison, George Morrison and Willis Morrison.
Mr. Morrison's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
