(HEFLIN) Following a lengthy battle with cancer, Barbara Nan Morrison of Heflin passed away Monday, Sept. 6, 2021, at the age of 66.

Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 9, at 1 p.m. at Dryden Funeral Home, Heflin.

The funeral will be Thursday, Sept. 9, at 2 p.m. at Dryden Funeral Home, Heflin, with Pastor Billy Kennedy of Heflin Church of God officiating. Burial will be at Jordan's Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery, Newell.

Barbara was born on July 23, 1955, in Anniston. She attended Cleburne County High School and graduated in 1973. Barbara went on to attend West Georgia College in Carrollton. After four years of working at night to pay for her tuition and going to school during the day, she graduated in 1977 with a bachelor of science degree in biology. Barbara was a member of Heflin Church of God. She loved the Lord with her whole heart and soul. Barbara loved to read too and her favorite book of all was the Bible, which she read daily. She had several of her own horses through the years and considered them to be her family.

Barbara is survived by her sister, Minanette Warren (Gray) and numerous cousins. The predeceased include her dad, P. T. "Doc" Morrison; mom, Iva Dell Johnson; sister, Laura Rollins; nephews, Chad Williams and Cody Bentley; paternal and maternal grandparents.
