(ROANOKE) Richard Hughley, 46, of Randolph Street, Roanoke, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2021, at Tanner - East Alabama Medical Center in Wedowee.
Richard was born in Randolph County on May 21, 1974, to the late Bobby Mosley and Nancy Mae Hughley. He attended Randolph County Schools. Richard worked for a short time at Plantation Patterns and also spent some time pulpwooding for Charlie Boyd Logging. At a young age, however, Richard became ill and was unable to continue pursuing employment because of his illness. His hobbies were watching sci-fi movies and listening to "old school" music.
He is survived by his fiancee', Dana Jeter of Roanoke; grandparents, Estella Hughley and Ezra Hughley; two daughters, Rachel Estella Hughley and Kimberly Hughley; brothers, Willie Lewis Hughley (Rochelle Leana Hughley) of Roanoke, Tony Mosley and Al Mosley; three sisters, Maleta Hughley and Tanya Hughley, both of Roanoke; uncle, Larry Hughley; two nieces, Quamesha Hughley and Shareeka Bell; six nephews, Douglas Tucker, Damien Harris, John Bell, Vincent Bell Jr., Shaquille Hughley and Tattem; other kindred and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Liz Mosley.
The family is planning a private memorial service to be held at a later date.
