(WADLEY) The funeral for Rhonda Baldwin, 61, of Wadley will be Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Tyler Worthey and Bro. Frank Sledge officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.

The visitation at the funeral home will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday. ***Please note that due to concerns about the recent surge of COVID-related illnesses, the family requests wearing masks and social distancing. Visitation will be on Friday for those who wish to come pay their respects and sign the register book, but the family may not be present. Thank you for your understanding.***

Mrs. Baldwin passed away Thursday, Aug. 26, at her residence following a lengthy illness.

A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mrs. Baldwin was born on July 21, 1960, in LaFayette, the daughter of G.C. Bailey and Dorothy Strickland Bailey Herren. Mrs. Baldwin graduated from Handley High School in 1979 and attended Southern Union State Community College and Jacksonville State University. She worked for SouthTrust Bank and was youth director at Trinity Baptist Church for 19 years. Mrs. Baldwin received her master's degree from Jacksonville State University and taught history four years at Handley High School until 2015.

Survivors include her husband, Phillip Baldwin of Wadley; mother, Dorothy Herren of Roanoke; sister, Angela Hayes (Tristram) of Bethlehem, Ga.; three nieces and five nephews. Mrs. Baldwin was preceded in death by her father and stepfather, Wyatt Herren.

Pallbearers will be members from the youth group of Trinity Baptist Church.
