(ROANOKE) Memorial services for Jerry Wayne Parmer, 70, will be Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019, at p.m. at Lebanon Christian Church with the Rev. Lynn Janney officiating.
Mr. Parmer died Saturday, Aug. 24, at Bethany Hospice in Auburn.
Mr. Parmer was born Feb. 21, 1949, the son of Walter Lee and Ruby Weldon Parmer. He was Christian by faith and had served as a deacon at Lebanon Christian Church. He worked at UniRoyal in Opelika for 25 years before opening and operating Parmer's Farm Supply in Rock Mills for many years before moving the store to Springfield. He was also a member of the Alabama Cattlemen's Association.
Mr. Parmer is survived by his wife, Cheryl Norred Parmer of Roanoke; daughter, Paula Parmer Smith (husband, Paul) of Anniston; stepdaughter, Amy Weaver Mitchell of San Diego, Calif.; two sons, Danny Parmer (wife, Mary Lou) of Monroeville and Wayne Parmer (wife, Jodi) of Roanoke; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Joyce Cole (husband, Steve) of Roanoke. Mr. Parmer was preceded in death by parents and one brother, C.L. Parmer.
