(WOODLAND) The funeral for James Oren Green, 62, of Woodland will be Sunday, June 26, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church with Bro. David Daniel, Bro. Terry Eason and Bro. John Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday. Mr. Green will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services on Sunday.

Mr. Green passed away Thursday, June 23, in Chattanooga, Tenn.

A Woodland native, Mr. Green was born in Carrollton, Ga., on July 9, 1959, the son of Alfred and Elender Drummond Green. He was a member of Zion Baptist Church and worked as a poultry farmer and heavy equipment operator. Mr. Green loved farming, the outdoors and his family, friends and community, and he loved Alabama football. He also enjoyed watching westerns, especially "Gunsmoke."

Survivors include his wife, Belinda Green of Woodland; daughter, Faith Ussery (Gene) of Atlanta; son, Owen Henderson (Heather) of Woodland; five grandchildren, Abbey Ussery, Maddey Ussery, Madeline Henderson, Sadie Henderson and Aubrey Henderson; sister, Marie Gay (Phillip) of Woodland; and brother, Alan Green (Shawn) of Anniston. Mr. Green was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Justin Gay, Lane Gay, Richard Parrish, Caleb Brown, Garret Green, Benny Floyd, Wendell Shelton and Gene Ussery Jr.
