(ROANOKE) The funeral for Troy J. W. Baker, 75, of Roanoke will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Roger Florence officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Broughton.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday.

Mr. Baker died Saturday, Sept. 25, at Tanner-East Alabama Mecical Center, Wedowee.

A Roanoke native, Mr. Baker was born Nov. 9, 1945, the son of Elbert Jackson and Nancy Whaley Baker. He was a member of Rock Springs Christian Church and had retired from Koch Foods in Ashland.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Anglin of Roanoke; three daughters, Ethel Jones of Heflin, Teresa Faye Mateo of Alexandria and Nona Faye Baker of Wedowee; two sons, J.W. Baker Jr. of Wedowee and Timothy Baker of Roanoke; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Jeremiah Baker and Christopher Troy Baker; and brother, Joe Baker.

Pallbearers will be J.R. Jernigan, Anthony Brown, Chase Brown, David Patterson, Steve Arrington and Kenneth Dale Patterson. Robert Paul Duke and William Wilkerson will serve as honorary pallbearers.
