(LINEVILLE) The funeral for Miriam Jeanette Brooks, 82, of Lineville was Friday, Sept. 17, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Wesley's Chapel Christian Church, Lineville (Randolph County), with the Rev. Billy Todd officiating. Burial followed in the adjoining cemetery.

Mrs. Brooks passed away Monday, Sept. 13, at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery.

Born in Rock Hill, S.C., she lived in Charleston for a number of years working as a hairdresser in her own beauty shop. When she married her husband, Benny, they moved to Clay County and have lived here around 37 years. Mrs. Brooks won blue ribbons for her pound cake and sharp shooting and was a member and secretary/treasurer at Wesley's Chapel Christian Church.

Mrs. Brooks is survived by her children, Beth Johnson Brown (Dave) and Sherry Brooks Crew, both of Lineville, and Denna Brooks Reddick (Dennis) and John Andrew Brooks (April), both of Charleston; five grandchildren, Amanda Brooks Hansil (Bailey) of Huntersville, N.C., Kyle Ray Brooks and John David Reddick, both of Charleston, Lili Elizabeth Gonzales of Anniston and Emma Claire Runfola of Lineville; three great-grandchildren, Charlotte Renee Hansil, James Brooks Hansil and Tyler Dennis. She is preceded in death by her parents, Guy Walter Scott and Annette Elizabeth Pollard; and husband, Benny Brooks.
