(LAGRANGE, Ga.) Helen Louise McFarlin Woodyard, of LaGrange, Ga., passed away Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022. Graveside services were held Friday, Nov. 4, at Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, Roanoke.
She was born in Chambers County on August 16, to Calvin and Mary Edith Thompson McFarlin, both who preceded her in death along with her son, Rico Ortez Baker; and brother, Larry McFarlin.
She was a member of Canaan Missionary Baptist, Roanoke (Welch), and later moved her membership to the Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church, Cusseta. Helen graduated from Phillips High School, Five Points, and furthered her education by attending Alabama A&M University.
She was survied by her husband, David Woodyard; children, Chinea Boyd (Demoton) of LaGrange, Tamara Beasley (Shemika) of Hogansville, Ga., Candace Robinson (Joseph) of Valdosta, Ga., Skylar Brown, Jordan “AJ” Brown, Jr., Denver Boyd, and Ace Beasley; one sister, Mary Lee Sanders of Roanoke; one brother, Hayward McFarlin (Sandra) of El Paso, Texas; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren
