(WEDOWEE) Graveside services for Irene Benefield McManus, 93, of Wedowee were held on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023, at North Atlanta Memorial Park in Dunwoody, Ga., with Dr. Thomas Elliott officiating.
Mrs. McManus passed away Wednesday, Feb. 15, at The Retreat in Buford, Ga.
Survivors include: one daughter, Rita M. Osborn of Hoschton, Ga.; one grandchild, Carla U. Hoenshel; four great-grandchildren, Abbi Palmieri, Ryan Palmieri, Natalie Hoenshel and Nathaniel Hoenshel; and two sisters, Sara Kirby and Idell Wilder, both of Anniston.
A Roanoke native, Mrs. McManus was born on March 16, 1929, the daughter of Guy Felton and Mattie Bell Owens Benefield. She was a member of Green’s Chapel Methodist Church and worked at Rich’s in Atlanta before retiring. Mrs. McManus was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roland P. McManus; a son, Cleveland Earl McManus; a daughter, Donna Lee Couch; a son-in-law, John E. Osborn; two sisters, Mary Browning and Francis Kirby; and two brothers, Morgan Benefield and Guy F. Benefield.
