(CRAGFORD) Masonic graveside services for Jimmy Lee Moncus, 78, of Cragford will be Saturday, July 11, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Jimmy Brand and Bro. Kenneth Fuller officiating.
Mr. Moncus died Tuesday, July 7, at his home.
A lifelong resident of Clay County, he graduated from Mellow Valley High School, attended Southern Union State Community College and Jacksonville State University. He was a highly decorated Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army with the 609th Trans. Co., receiving numerous medals for his service. Jimmy was a hard worker who was known to do whatever it took to provide for his family. He worked as plant manager for Wellborn Cabinet Company. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and Lineville Masonic Lodge 219 F&AM.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara S. Moncus of Cragford; two daughters, Connie Moncus Saxon of Cragford and Lyn Moncus Perry (Chad) of Roanoke; two sons, Sam Belcher (Andie) and Mikie Belcher (Aleisha), both of Cragford; sister, Janice Moncus McVay (Dwight) of Cragford; 10 grandchildren; several special nieces, nephews and a large extended family and church family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Hoyt and Clara Elizabeth McLain Moncus; three sisters, Ila Caldwell, Emma Jean Bassett and Faye Moncus Farris; and brother, William Fred Moncus.
Pallbearers will be Steven Ferguson, T.C. Colley, Yank Hendon, Ray Hodnett, Johnny Thompson and Edward Hendon.
**Due to concerns of the COVID-19 pandemic, attendees should be limited to family and closest friends. Face coverings should be worn by all those in attendance.
