(ROANOKE) The funeral for James Edward "Ed" Sanders Sr., 74, of Roanoke will be Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019, at 4:30 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church with Bro. Scott Whaley and Rev. S.T. Janney officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday.
Mr. Sanders died Friday, Nov. 1, at West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange.
A Rock Mills native, Mr. Sanders was born Feb. 17, 1945, the son of John Thomas and Dessa Towler Sanders. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and worked as a mechanic for Mohawk Industries.
Survivors include his wife, Tommie May Sanders of Roanoke; two daughters, Jenny Crawford (Todd) and Jessica Sanders (Kevin), both of Roanoke; son, Eddie Sanders (Nikki) of Rock Mills; four grandchildren, Katherine Crawford, Nathan Sanders, Aidan Sanders and Caleb Sanders; and brother, Johnny Sanders (Joyce) of Roanoke. Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Wanda Horn Sanders; daughter, Misty McCullough; and two sisters, Norma Whaley and Annie Lois Sanders.
Pallbearers will be Mike Whaley, Ronald Turner, Chris Cole, Jimmy Whaley, Jimmy Crowell and Cody Crawford. Honorary pallbearers will be Stan Whaley, Don Taylor Garfield Clark, Rocky Pemberton, Marshall Wilson and Joey Truitt.
