(ROANOKE) Steven David Taft, 47, of Roanoke passed away Feb. 3, 2021, in Oxford.

Steven graduated from Handley High School in 1991 and went on to serve four years in the U.S. Navy. He had an amazing, quirky sense of humor, great laugh and radiant smile that will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his mother, Linda Horton (Dave) of Spring Hill, Tenn.; stepmother, Trude Taft of Wedowee; daughter, Kaylee Renae Taft of Wedowee; sisters, Bronwyn Bacon (Evan) of Palm Desert, Calif., and Ashley Greene (Ben), nephew, Jacob Greene, and niece, Lauren Greene of Hoover; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ray and Bernice Taft; maternal grandparents, Jean Spillman and W.J. Watson Jr.; father, Waymon Taft; and brothers, Robert "Robbie" Taft and Jason Horton.

Private family burial and dispersal of the cremains will take place in the future.
