(PIEDMONT) The funeral for Julia Nadine Boggs Rankin, 83, of Piedmont will be Saturday, June 1, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Piedmont with Dr. Harold R. Epperson officiating. Burial is at Littlejohn Cemetery in the Knightens' Crossroads community.
Visitation hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 31.
Ms. Rankin died Thursday, May 23, at Regional Medical Center, Anniston.
Mrs. Rankin was born March 14, 1936, in an area once known as Halpin's Crossroads midway between Wedowee and Hollis Crossroads. Nadine graduated from Randolph County High School in 1954. She adopted Union Hill Congregational Methodist Church of Wedowee as her home church.
Survivors include two sons, Kerry John (Maria Blanca) and Randy Jackson Rankin; and two grandchildren, Maria Nadine and Amy Miranda. Nadine was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Randall Davis Rankin; her parents, Grady Jackson and Amy Lindley Boggs; as well as all of her siblings, Frances Grace Boggs Dickert, James Clarence Boggs, Myrtle Lorene Ledbetter, Eunice Boggs Cooley, Edna Geneva Boggs Twilley, Charles Leonard Boggs and Gerald Gay Boggs.
Pallbearers include Ronnie Ledbetter, David Ledbetter, Michael Twilley, Richard Jay McCain, Jared Chase McCain, Jayden Trey McCain, Timothy Davis and Benjamin Barlament.
Flowers are acceptable as well as donations to Piedmont Education Trust.
