(DALTON, Ga.) Surrounded by her loving family, Louise Morris Cheever, 87, of Dalton, Ga., (formerly of Roanoke, Wisconsin, and Ft. Myers, Fla.), passed away at Hamilton Medical Center on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022.
A memorial service and internment will be held Saturday, Jan. 22, at 11 a.m. at Springfield Baptist Church in Roanoke with Pastor Clayton Scott officiating.
The loving matriarch of her family and extended family, Mrs. Cheever left a legacy of love, grace and compassion to all that family and to those who knew her. She was an active member and supporter of the Dalton Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Mrs. Cheever is survived by her daughter and sons, Vickie Dow (Ed), Dr. Bryan Cheever MD (Becky), Dennis Cheever (Olga Delagarza) and Tim Cheever (Barbara); grandchildren, Dixie Nielsen, Amber Goode, Dennis Cheever Jr., Brianna Cheever and Jillian Cheever; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brothers and sister, George "Buck" Morris (Martha), Jerry Morris and Macy June Waldron (Newton). Many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Cheever; parents, Gordon and Bessie Morris; brother and sisters, Lois Hamm, Annie Jo Clegg, Alfie Boyette, Fargo "Bubba" Morris, Horace Morris and Kathleen Morris.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery Fund (5109 County Rd. 87, Roanoke, AL 36274).
