(ROANOKE) Kenneth Bell, 46, of Roanoke died Monday, Feb. 10, 2020, at Wellstar West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange.
The service was Saturday, Feb. 15, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Riley Street. The Rev. L.B. Houston officiated, along with Pastor Gilbert Staples and the Rev. Douglas. Burial was at New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery, Roanoke.
Born in Randolph County on Aug. 6, 1973, to the late Eddie Lee Morgan and the late Rosie Mae Bell, he spent a lot of time with his "surrogate mother," the late Joann Hopper. He attended New Harmony Baptist and later joined First Baptist. He worked at Roanoke Stockyards, in construction, and as a welder for 15+ years at Plantation Patterns in Wadley. Perhaps the greatest challenge he had to face was being diagnosed with cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Monica Hambrick of Roanoke; son, TayShawn Kentavious Bell, and daughter, Shambreka Nicole Green of LaGrange; three grandchildren; five brothers, Manuel Bernard Bell of LaGrange, Vincent Bell and Victor Bell, both of Roanoke, and Gary Morgan and Timmy Morgan, both of Franklin, Ga.; two sisters, Kathy Morgan and Beverly Ann Morgan, both of Roanoke; stepmother, Diane Bell of Roanoke; mother-in-law, Mary Blakes of Five Points; three half-brothers, Tony Hines, Andrew Hines and Tracy Hines; and three half-sisters, Taffiney Copeland, Angela Nicholas and Charlotte Billingslea.
