(HUNTSVILLE) Kay A. Daniel, 86, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023, in Huntsville. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, June 4, at Union Baptist Church, 7645 Old Hwy 431, Newell, with the Rev. Ed Halsey officiating. A graveside service will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens in Roanoke.

Kay was born in Del Rio, Texas, and a 1954 graduate of Del Rio High School. She married John Daniel of Camp Hill in July of 1955 and moved to Alabama later that year. In 1956, She and John moved to Roanoke, where they lived for almost 40 years. Kay, in addition to being a homemaker raising 4 children, was a bookkeeper for her husband’s business, a substitute teacher, a realtor, and was actively involved in her church as well as multiple social and community organizations. After retirement, Kay and John moved to several locations settling in Huntsville. Kay was an active member of Roanoke First Baptist Church, Camp Hill Baptist Church, Union Baptist Church, Newell, and recently at Willowbrook Baptist Church in Huntsville.

Kay was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed singing in the church choir, traveling, and being with friends, but what she loved the most was spending time with her family.

Kay is survived by one daughter, Melody Hagler (Greg) of Huntsville and three sons, Mike (Fredia) of Newell, Chris (Gloria) of Kennesaw, Ga., and Tim (Beth) of Huntsville. Kay is also survived by eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
