(LEEDS) Graveside services for Christine Bice McCrary, 89, of Leeds were Sunday, July 26, 2020, at 2 p.m. at Union Motley Baptist Church Cemetery near Wadley. The Rev. John Roberts officiated.

Mrs. McCrary died Thursday, July 23, at her residence.

She was born Feb. 7, 1931, in Daviston to Samuel Rufus Bice and Octavia Nix Bice. She was a member of Central Park Baptist Church. Christine was a true Southern belle, always well dressed, prim and proper. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Even though she was the primary caregiver for her oldest son, she worked in the jewelry industry for many years and took great pride in caring for her customers as well.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth McCrary (Robbye); daughter, Joyce Barfield (Albert); grandchildren, Brandon McCrary (Brandye), Joshua McCrary, Miranda Mitchell (Jeremy), Bonnie Branyon (Paul), Curtis Barfield and Amy Roberts (Keith); 10 great-grandchildren; and special nephew, Jerry Bice. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, James Robert McCrary Sr.; son, James Robert McCrary Jr.; parents; grandson, Courtney Robertson; and brothers, Clarence and Reginald Bice.
