(BIRMINGHAM) Frank Herschel Looser Sr., 88, of Birmingham passed away at UAB Medical Center on Aug. 25, 2021.

A graveside service will be at Ebenezer Methodist Church Cemetery, County Road 123, Wadley (Chambers County), on Tuesday, Aug. 31, at 1 p.m.

Frank was born April 6, 1933, in Abanda to the late William and Cornelia Looser. He was the only son with two older sisters, the late Dorothy Kelly and Mosel Parks. He graduated from Chambers County High School in Milltown in 1951. He served honorably in the U.S. Military from 1953 to 1955 as a heavy equipment mechanical engineer. He and Mona made their home in Beulah until 1982 when the family relocated to Birmingham. Mr. Looser made his career in the textile industry at Shawmut Mill for 38 years, retirimg in 1988 as a supervisor. He was an active member of the "Restoration Gathering" Nondenominational Christian Church in Birmingham. He was an accomplished musician, singer, guitar player and recording artist. He loved spending time with his family boating, fishing and camping.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mona Looser; children, Frank Looser Jr. (Cheryl), Melody Looser Scoggins (Sean), John Staples (Valerie), Ann Williamson Farr (Donald), Clint Looser and Chelsea Looser; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by children, Mike Williamson and Chuck Staples.
