(LaGRANGE, Ga.) A memorial service for Tawana Denise Snead Terry was Saturday, May 16, at 11:30 a.m. at Clark Memorial Funeral Service.

Ms. Terry, 57, a resident of LaGrange, Ga., died Wednesday morning, May 13, at her residence.

The daughter of Carolyn Crocker-Surles and George Snead, Tawana was born May 23, 1963, in Washington, D.C. She was educated in Washington, D.C., and Maryland public schools. Tawana was a hard-working single mom who worked multiple jobs at times to make sure her son was cared for. She was a no-nonsense, loving sister. She loved old school music, and her favorite singer/group was Frankie Beverly and Mays.

Tawana is survived by her son, Elliott Keys of LaGrange; fiancŽ, Michael Phillips, whom she had planned on marrying on Sept. 30, 2020; brothers, Kenneth Snead of Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Ray Terry of Maryland; along with several other siblings. Tawana is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, one niece and two nephews.
