WADLEY - Wadley Town Council approved the purchase of two equipped police trucks at its meeting on Wednesday of last week.

The town's current police cars constantly need work or in the shop, so everyone was in agreement it is time to start looking for new ones.

In other business the council:

  • Approved to purchase first aid kits, a blood pressure machine (that will be put at town hall for the public to use) and a defibrillator.
  • Approved sidewalk repairs (approximately 167 sidewalk panels).
  • Authorized Mayor Donna McKay and Mayor Pro Tem Michael Brown to sign at First Bank for Perry property purchase.
  • Approved the sale of two vehicles as surplus (black, 4-wheel drive truck and white Crown Vic).

The next council meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 1.
