Fire turck

Around 4 a.m. Monday, a truck belonging to Kevin Yates, parked at his residence on County Road 1, caught fire when he tried to crank it. He tried to put it out with a portable pump, but it was too hot. It caused major damage to his house and his wife's car. Wedowee Fire Department responded. No injuries were reported.

Auslin's Chapel Fire Department was called out to assist Wedowee on the truck fire. While they were en route, the driver of the pumper truck evidently lost control, left the road and overturned. The driver was trapped for a short period of time, but the passenger was able to crawl out. The accident happened on County Road 804. Wedowee FD responded to assist at the scene with Randolph County EMA, Wedowee PD and Randolph County Sheriff's Department. The accident occurred around 4:30 a.m. Monday.
