SIKESVILLE - A two-vehicle crash at approximately 1:15 p.m. Monday, May 3, has claimed the life of a Cragford man.

According to Justin O'Neal, public information officer with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency post in Jacksonville, Steven Lowry, 29, was killed when the 1998 Ford Mustang he was driving collided head on with a gravel truck. Lowry was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash, which occurred on Alabama Highway 77 near the 27 mile marker, approximately 5 miles northwest of Wadley at the Randolph-Clay county line and across from Mount Olive Baptist Church.

In addition to the Troopers, Shiloh and County Line volunteer fire departments, Clay County Rescue Squad and Clay County Sheriff's Office also responded.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
