Randolph County Sheriff's Office is seeking the whereabouts of an inmate who escaped from Randolph County Jail Sunday night.
According to the report, Victor Gurley, 29, of 1254 County Rd. 59, Roanoke, had been out in the jail yard with other prisoners about 8 p.m., but did not come back inside with them.
His jail jumpsuit was found behind a storage unit next to the jail. His shoes were found beside the fence that surrounds the jail. There was blood on the fence where he forced his way out through a small hole.
Someone reported seeing him in Roanoke on Monday, but when officers went to the area, they were unable to find him.
Turley was in jail for first-degree assault, first-degree burglary, resisting arrest, two counts of failure to appear in court (child support and third-degree escape), first-degree theft of property and destruction of state property.
