FRIENDSHIP - A single-vehicle crash at approximately 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, has claimed the life of a Handley High School senior.
Gabe Taylor, 17, was fatally injured when the 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree. The teen was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash, which occurred on Randolph County Road 26, east of Friendship Baptist Church.
According to Randolph County E-911, in addition to the Troopers, Randolph County Sheriff's Office, Corinth and Rock Stand volunteer fire departments, Emergency Medical Transport and the coroner all responded to the accident.
Gabe was a resident of the Forester's Chapel area. He was a drummer in the HHS Band and a member of the HHS Fishing Team.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
