A 2006 Toyota Prius driven by Savannah Marie Johnson, 19, of Wedowee stopped just in front of a sign that reads "Jesus Loves You" following an accident on U.S. 431 south of Roanoke on Monday of last week. According to the report from Roanoke Police, Johnson was northbound behind a tractor trailer that was slowing down to turn onto Old LaFayette Highway. As the Prius was attempting to slow down, it turned into the southbound lane to avoid an accident, but Johnson did not see another truck traveling south. The 2020 Peterbuilt truck, driven by Clarence A. White, 53, of Trussville, attempted to move out of the way, but still struck the Prius. Johnson was transferred by ambulance to Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange with non-life threatening injuries.
