Pothole truck

WEDOWEE - The Randolph County Highway Department has taken delivery of its new one-man hole-patching machine.

According to county engineer Burrell Jones, the truck arrived last week and he hopes to put it in service this week. He said the machine will not patch as rapidly as the old method they use now, but will put in a better patch.

"We are gonna drop from three men on the patching crew to only one, even though there will be a safety truck following behind," said Jones.

The cost of the truck was some $219,275.
