CRAGFORD - An Ashland woman died from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle accident that happened late Monday night near Cragford.

According to Randolph County Coroner Terry Sparks, the accident happened near the intersection of Randolph County Roads 5 and 866, in the west-central part of the county, near the Alabama Gold Camp. The vehicle went down an embankment and struck a tree.

Julie Cooper Murner, 43, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident in which she was a passenger. The driver of the vehicle - whose name was not available from the Alabama State Troopers - was airlifted to a Columbus, Ga., hospital.

According to the Troopers, the accident was reported at approximately 11:45 p.m.

Responders to the scene included Randolph County Sheriff's Office, Clay County Rescue Squad, Cragford Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Medical Transport.
