Two Roanoke men are at Grady Hospital in Atlanta following a shooting early Sunday on Strozier Street.
According to Roanoke Police Chief Adam Melton, a call came in about 3 a.m. of a reckless vehicle on Strozier Street. As police were responding, a second call came of a vehicle of similar description at Walmart parking lot with a subject inside it who had been shot.
The subject in the car was identified as Keyshawn Daniel, 22, of Country Club Road, Roanoke. Daniel received multiple gunshot wounds and was taken by helicopter to Grady.
Witnesses on the scene said he had been shot by Cortney Hunter, 29, of County Road 213, Wedowee.
Then investigators received a call from WellStar West Georgia Hospital in LaGrange of a shooting victim from Roanoke at the facility. It was Hunter at the LaGrange hospital. He too was transferred to Grady. A firearm was recovered from his vehicle.
Melton said investigators are still trying to determine the circumstances of the shootings, and investigator Jonathan Caldwell was headed to Grady Monday to follow up.
