The Public Relations Department of Southern Union State Community College (SUSCC) earned three Medallion Awards from District 2 of the National Council of Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) for exemplary work in the field.

The NCMPR Medallion Awards are presented to top projects from two-year colleges throughout District 2 which includes institutions in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands and the Bahamas. More than 300 entries were considered for recognition in more than 40 categories. Each category awarded a gold, silver and bronze distinc­tion.

The public relations team of public relations director Shondae Brown and multi-media special­ist Abra Camp earned a gold Medallion for its admission acceptance folder; gold in the invita­tion category for the invi­tation to A Grave Affair; and a bronze in the nov­elty advertising category for the college’s congratu­lations mail out to area seniors.

SUSCC was one of only three Alabama Community Colleges to receive recognition. Gadsden State Community College and Wallace State Community College also earned awards.
