Woodland Town Council discussed the success of the Vern Fest during their meeting on Monday evening.

There were over 600 people in attendance at the Vern Gosdin Memorial Concert on July 26, which featured Mark Chestnutt, Craig Campbell and Kevin Moon.

The council also:

  • Discussed upcoming little league projects. A new practice field will hopefully be in the works soon and ready by next season.
  • Discussed fire department parking issues. It was brought to the council's attention there are people parking in front of the fire department, which is a no parking zone. There are several signs up that are being ignored.
  • Heard from a resident on Taylor Street about the road conditions.
