A motorcyclist was seriously injured on Thursday afternoon of last week in an accident involving another vehicle.

According to the report from Roanoke Police Department, the 2007 Suzuki driven by Devin Shawn Freeman, 23, of Roanoke was southbound on Chestnut Street when a 2008 Honda Fit, driven by Alexander Royce Carson, 24, of Roanoke, pulled out of Government Street and hit the bike in the side. The impact threw Freeman off the bike and into a third vehicle. Freeman was transported by helicopter to University Hospital in Birmingham. He was released on Sunday and is eventually expected to make a full recovery.
