WEDOWEE - At last Tuesday's Wedowee Town Council meeting, the council approved locations for speed bumps to be installed on Mill Street.

After a petition was presented to the council last month concerning excessive speeding and reckless driving on the street and the new need for speed bumps, Mayor Tim Coe and Police Chief Jay Stone agreed on locations for the bumps. Stone said to begin the process, there will be three speed bumps placed on the street. Mayor Coe said signs will be placed at each end of the street warning of the speed bumps and signs on each side of the bumps saying "Bump."

"I hope we can have these installed in the next couple of weeks," Coe said.

In other business, the council Agreed to allow the Randolph County Equine and Agriculture Center board to hold their meetings at town hall. The meetings are scheduled for the fourth Tuesday at each month at 6 p.m. At the present time, the equine center has been closed to the public by the state fire marshal.
