WEDOWEE - Wadley High School will welcome a new assistant principal.

During a meeting on May 30, Randolph County Board of Education approved Amy Richardson as the new assistant principal, effective July Richardson comes from Randolph County High School, where she was an English teacher. She replaces Logan Cofield, who was recently selected as the new principal of Wedowee Elementary.

The board also approved the new lunch and breakfast prices for students, employees and guests at the following rates: Paid lunches - students $2.50, employees $3.35, guests $3.60; reduced lunches - students - 40 cents; paid breakfasts - students 75 cents, employees $1.10, guests $1.40.

Personnel

In personnel matters the board approved:

  • the transfer of Kenneth Fordham, driver's ed/physical ed teacher at Wadley, to driver's ed/physical ed teacher at Wedowee Elementary, effective 2019-2020 school year.
  • Nydia Stewart as custodian at Wedowee Elementary, effective 2019-2020 school year.
  • the transfer of Teresa Adams, reading coach at Wadley, to reading coach at Woodland Elementary, effective 2019-2020 school year.
  • Stephanie Crawley as secretary/bookkeeper at Woodland Elementary, effective July 1.
  • Leslie Motley as elementary teacher at Wadley, effective 2019-2020 school year.
  • the transfer of Mel Richardson, reading coach at Rock Mills Junior High, to reading coach at Rock Mills and Wadley, effective 2019-2020 school year.
  • the transfer of Jeremiah Thomas, physical education teacher at Wedowee Elementary, to physical ed/social studies teacher at Rock Mills, effective 2019-2020 school year.
  • Shalyn Strain as early childhood teacher at Rock Mills, effective 2019-2020 school year.

They also accepted the resignation due to retirement of:

  • Elizabeth G. Creed, elementary teacher at Wedowee Elementary, effective July 1.
  • Yvonne Sears, lunchroom worker at Woodland High, effective May 23.

The board also accepted the resignations of:

  • Adam Butler, teacher at RCHS, effective May 23.
  • Sheri Richards, custodian at RCHS, effective May 23.

Also approved is an out-of-state field trip for Woodland students to LaGrange, Ga., for cheer camp at Great Wolf Lodge, July 8-11 (to be paid for from the cheer fund).
