WADLEY - Wadley Town Council got together for a called meeting last Thursday to address concerns of the coronavirus.

Mayor Donna McKay stated she had been in constant, close contact with the League of Municipalities and the Governor's Office for guidance on emergency response to the virus outbreak. After a brief discussion, the council voted to adopt Ordinance 3-26-20 to provide for an emergency response to the virus outbreak.

The council also passed a proclamation regarding the response plan. In the proclamation, it states Wadley Town Hall and all public buildings are closed to the public. Staff will be in town hall to take payments on utility bills. The youth baseball and softball season has been cancelled until further notice.

The April 6 council meeting has been canceled. The next scheduled meeting will be determined.
