Randolph County Chamber of Commerce will host an active shooter workshop in Wedowee on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 5:30 p.m. at Randolph County Courthouse in the large courtroom. Chance D. Corbett, associate director, Emergency Management, Auburn University Department of Campus Safety, will be the keynote speaker. The focus of the workshop will be to help business, industry and churches to identify common behavior, conditions and situations associated with active shooters.
The course is to prepare citizens with strategies and tactics to survive an active shooter threat. The number of active shooter events has doubled over the past decade and is projected to increase. Domestic violence, places of worship and workplace violence are on the rise. Everyone involved in an active shooter event has said it would never happen here ... never happen to them. Are you prepared? This workshop could save your life and the lives of your family, friends and colleagues.
There is not a charge for this informative community event. For more information and to register contact the Randolph County Chamber of Commerce 334-863-1402 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Parking for the workshop will be behind the courthouse. Please enter through the rear door of the courthouse near the sheriff's office.
