WADLEY - An ordinary traffic stop last Tuesday in Wadley resulted in an out of the ordinary case for Wadley Police Department.

A vehicle was pulled over because of its tag light, and after the officer smelled marijuana, a search of the vehicle was conducted.

Corbin Jamar Smith, 32, of Pine Valley Drive, Roanoke, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, first-degree possession of marijuana, trafficking heroine and trafficking methamphetamine.

Wadley Police Chief Tyler Murphy said it was what is known as black tar heroine. The marijuana was packaged for distribution, and the other drugs were of trafficking weight. Needles and syringes were also found.
