PROVIDENCE - A two-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon in the Providence community near Woodland seriously injured a Woodland boy.

According to the Jacksonville Post of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the accident happened at 3:35 p.m. on County Road 459. Jeremiah Ford Smith was driving a two-wheel dirt bike and collided with a Razer ATV driven by William Cort Smith, also of Woodland.

Jeremiah, a fourth-grader at Woodland Elementary School, was seriously injured and was flown to Children's Hospital by Air Evac. The two involved in the accident are related.

According to Randolph County E-911, Southern Ambulance Transport, Randolph County Sheriff's Office and Woodland Volunteer Fire Department also responded.
