Dusty Joe McManus

(ROOPVILLE, Ga.) Dusty Joe McManus, 43, of Roopville, Ga., passed away on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024. He was born Nov. 27, 1980, in Lithia Springs, Ga., the son of Barry McManus and Lisa Williamson Porter.
In addition to his parents, he leaves behind his daughter, Sadie Paula McManus; stepmother, Jane McManus; stepfather, Dwayne Porter; and maternal grandmother, Sue Bloodworth, to cherish his memory. Dusty is also survived by the mother of his child, Steffanie Francis; his girlfriend, Kelly Kolowich; and aunts and uncles, Susan Williamson, Keith and Sherry Williamson, and Roger and Tammy Williamson.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joe Bob McManus and Della McManus; maternal grandfather, Bobby Williamson; and uncle, Ronnie Williamson.
Dusty was a 1999 graduate of Central High School where he excelled in baseball. He went on to play baseball at the college level at South Georgia College and at Southern Polytechnic State University. Dusty obtained his bachelor’s degree from Kennesaw State University. He also obtained his real estate license of which he was very proud.
A funeral service was held to honor and celebrate Dusty on Saturday, Feb. 17, at 2 p.m. from Martin & Hightower Funeral Home, with Bro Jamie Meeks, Bro. Duane McManus and Randy Barnhart officiating. Interment followed in the Veal Community Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Casey Williamson, Tyler Williamson, Austin Williamson, David Smitherman, Brad Ethridge, Brandon Malone and Mark Nejedly.
