Leola Allen

(ROANOKE) Leola Allen, 79, of Roanoke passed away Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, at Wellstar Hospice Care of Lagrange, Ga.
Allen was a native of Five Points, a lifelong resident of the Historic East Roanoke community, and the widow of the late Jerry Allen, Jr.
She attended the historic Randolph County Training School in Roanoke. From a very early age, she was a member of New Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in LaFayette, where she remained a faithful member until the end.
She worked at Candlewick Yarns in Roanoke for 32 years before retiring in 2006.
She is survived by two daughters: Angela Wilson (Mike) and Donna Nolan (Randy) both of Roanoke; four grandsons: Windell John Nolan, Jr. (Takiis) of Honolulu, Hawaii, William Jay Nolan and Michael Travon Wilson, Jr. both of Roanoke, and Markiece Williams of Troy; two granddaughters: Kierra Nicole Wilson of Opelika and Aliyah Jamaya Wilson of Roanoke; a great-grandson, Liam John Nolan of Honolulu; and one great-granddaughter: Ka’Loni Na’Ryah Harris of Opelika; a sister, Mildred Patillo of Roanoke; and a special niece, Nannette Phillips of Roanoke.
A celebration of life ceremony was held Feb. 8 at New Harmony Baptist Church in LaFayette.
