When you and your football fanatic friends are in the middle of the hard fought Iron Bowl on Saturday and you run out of your favorite beverages, you don’t have to argue anymore about who is going to miss part of the game by running out to get more beer, wine or cocktails. You can now place an order with DoorDash for a home delivery from Quality Beverage Shop in Roanoke. Quality Beverage Shop and DoorDash have formed a partnership to provide the first home delivery service of alcoholic beverages to adult customers in Roanoke and the surrounding 12-mile area.
DoorDash has been available in Roanoke for over a year for deliveries of food from restaurants like McDonald’s, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Huddle House, and Ma Francis Kitchen. DoorDash orders can be combined so that food orders from restaurants and alcohol orders from the liquor store can come as one delivery. DashPass members can get $0 delivery fee and reduced service fees on orders of $12 or more from Quality Beverage Shop.
Home delivery of alcoholic beverages was approved by the Alabama legislature in 2021 with strict rules which ensure that the customer is at least 21 years of age. The delivery service has become very popular in Birmingham and other large cities, so Quality Beverage Shop owner Ronald Cameron believes that it will become a popular service in the Roanoke area.
“Home delivery of your favorite beverages can be not only a convenience, but also an important safety measure which allows a person who might have already had a drink to stay safely at home instead of driving to a store,” Cameron said.
