At a short meeting of Wedowee Town Council last week, Council member Pam Johnson said the holidays in Wedowee will offer something for everyone, young and old.
Johnson said it will all start with Trick or Treat in downtown on Thursday, October 26 and then trick or treating in the town limits from 5-7 p.m. on October 31.
On Friday, November 24 at 4 p.m., the Christmas Season will be ushered in with a tree lighting ceremony with choirs and food trucks at the old hospital location. Santa Claus will greet all the children at the Old Waters Inn after the lighting. The annual Christmas parade will be on Thursday, December 7.
To end the holiday season and the year, there will be a fish drop at First Bank Alabama on New Year’s Eve. Bands will be playing starting at 10:30 p.m. with the fish drop at midnight accompanied by fire works.
