Taylor James Phillips, 26, of Roanoke was arrested and charged with attempting to elude law enforcement, third-degree domestic violence and unlawful imprisonment. On Oct. 12, deputies responded to a call about a domestic altercation between boyfriend and girlfriend on County Road 16. A witness told 911 the two had left in a Jeep Cherokee. Responders were notified by another family member that the suspect’s vehicle had broken down on County Road 665. A deputy attempted to pull over a Jeep Cherokee on County Road 665 by using lights and siren, but it would not stop. The deputy followed the Cherokee in heavy rain into Heard County, Ga., and then their sheriff’s office was notified. Phillips was arrested and transported to the Heard County Jail on Oct. 13 and then to Randolph County Jail on Oct. 17. Phillips is also charged with first-degree escape from the Community Corrections Program.
A Yamaha Kodiak 700 ATV was reported stolen from a barn on County Road 436, Graham.
A 4’x8’ utility trailer was reported stolen from County Road 113.
A complainant reported that she sent money to a friend thru Cash App to purchase something for her. She never got the item, and the friend won’t give the money back.
A resident of Misty Lane reported the breaking and entering of his 2013 Toyota Corolla.
A horse saddle stand, large homemade metal cabinet and box of .308 shells, wooden drawers filled with machinist dyes and tools, reloading dyes, scrap metal, gun powder, gun stocks and gun bluing and two car batteries were reported stolen from a workshop on County Road 25 in the Morrison Crossroads community Oct. 22.
A property owner on County Road 16 near Center Chapel reported that on Oct. 19 dogs attacked his cattle and injured a calf.
A landlord on Highway 48, Wedowee, reported that on Oct. 19 someone bent the bottom of the lockbox and stole rent money.
A firearm was reported stolen from a residence on County Road 112, near Prospect Church, on Oct. 20.
The title to a truck was reported stolen from a safe on Oct. 22 on County Road 461 at Gray Hill.
