A camper was destroyed by fire on County Road 451 near Prospect Church last Thursday. Owner Robert Edward Jones had been sitting outside when he looked in and saw smoke. He walked up the road to get help. The structure was almost completely burnt to the ground when firefighters arrived. No injuries were reported.
A physical altercation occurred between two inmates at Randolph County Correctional Facility. Both were cleared by the nurse afterward.
A burglary was reported on County Road 87 in the Big Springs community. Among the items taken were cast iron cookware and two pneumatic staple guns.
A storage building was broken into on County Road 25, Newell. Among the items taken was a large bench grinder.
Gas was reported stolen from a Ford Ranger on County Road 30 in the Springfield area.
A resident of County Road 451 near Prospect Church reported that twice someone has put trash in her mailbox and yard and on her car, and they have slung mud onto her car.
