County school board approves budget, makes personnel moves

In two regular meetings and one called meeting, Randolph County Board of Education passed their new budget and hired a number of personnel. The 2023-2024 budget totals $28,079.323.30 in expenses with estimated revenues of $28,139,349.63. The budget shows an ending fund balance of $8,568,272.82 In September, 2024.

Personnel actions

In personnel actions the board approved the following:

  • Laci Kelley, Kelsie Lee and Belinda Mock as substitute teachers.
  • Laci Kelley as a substitute support personnel:
  • Camryn Arrington as Elementary Teacher at Woodland  Elementary School  effective, October 30, 2023
  • Wesley Brooks as Elementary Teacher at Wadley High School,  effective upon release from his current system.
  • Melanie Perry as Teacher Aide at Rock Mills Junior High  School, effective October 1, 2023 or the release from her current position.
  • Resignation of Roanld Legg, teacher at RCHS effective  September 18, 2023.
  • Resignation of Lisa Monroe, bus driver, effective October, 2023.
  • Randy Hill as a substitute teacher (Retroactive October 2, 2023).
  • Randy Hill as 7th and 8th Grade Science Teacher at Randolph County High School effective immediately.

Randolph County School Board met in a short, called meeting last week to approve a contract and some personnel actions.

The contract approved was with Criterion K-12 Consulting, LLC to provide Alabama SafeState Asbestos Management Planning and Support Services.
