Anthony Bernard ‘Smoky’ Sims

(Mableton, Ga.) Funeral services for Anthony Bernard “Smokey” Sims, 53, of Mableton, Ga., will be Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Chapel, with A.G. Sims officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8.

Mr. Sims passed away on Saturday, Sept. 2, at Wellstar Cobb Hospital in Austell, Ga.

Survivors include his wife, April Sims of Mableton, Ga.; three daughters, Tyla Sims, Aniyla Sims and Toni Sims; his mother, Wylander “Faye” Sims; and seven siblings, Aaron Robertson (Wanda), Tracey Sims, Toraze Sims (Teresa), Willis Knight, Reco Robertson, Reco Sims (Talia) and Lequinda Smith.

A Roanoke native, Mr. Sims was born on Jan. 19, 1970, the son of Willis Knight and Wylander “Faye” Sims. He was a member of Canaan Baptist Church and worked as a truck driver and was the owner of Sims Construction. Mr. Sims was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Tasha Knight.
